STX Offshore and Shipbuilding was nominated as an 'Enterprise of Outstanding Safety Management' for three consecutive years in the self-regulating safety management evaluation program implemented by the Ministry of Labor, with its 'Self-regulating Management Level' being determined in August this year.

The 'Self-regulating Safety Management Evaluation Program for the Shipbuilding Industry' was established to autonomously evaluate the safety level of work sites and to perform industrial disaster prevention activities. It consists of 53 evaluation items, including the amount of investment in safety and health, safety management activities and supports, measures against major hazardous elements in the work place, etc.

The program is determined through site investigation by the Ministry of Labor, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and academic circles after self-evaluation by the corresponding company.
